Twenty-six shelves. One pumpkin patch. All night to fill them.
A cozy Halloween game. Pick up a plain pumpkin, paint it, carve a face, drill the eyes, hollow it out and light the candle. Then find the shelf where it belongs. No timer, no fail state, just a patch full of pumpkins and a workshop to put in order.
A patch full of pumpkins and empty shelves
The garden is full of pumpkins and the shelves in the hall are bare. Some pumpkins are plain and waiting for a face. Others arrive already carved by somebody else and need to be read, judged and put where they belong. When every shelf is full, the night is done.
Pick one
Wade into the patch. Round ones, flat Cinderella wheels, tall ones, warty ones, white, blue-grey and green. Every pumpkin grows its own shape.
Carve it
Set it on the bench and turn it in your hands. Paint, cut, drill, gouge and shave. Close a knife loop and the piece drops out. Hollow it and the candle comes on.
Sort it
Cyclops, Owl, Vampire, Moustache, Upside Down, Zzz. Read the face, find its shelf and set it down. Get it right and it stays there.

Real cuts, real paint
- The surface really dents. Shave takes a little off per pass, gouge digs a groove with walls, peel shows the flesh, smooth blends it all back.
- Knife and drill go right through. Draw a loop with the knife, even in several strokes, and the piece falls out.
- Hollow it, light it. The candle flickers inside, the holes glow and thin carved walls shine through.
- Clone a favourite. Made a face you love? Copy it and fill a shelf with it.
Twenty-six shelves, twenty-six kinds of pumpkin
Every shelf in the hall has a sample pumpkin on its top board. These are those samples, carved by the game itself and drawn live in your browser. Each shelf asks for one thing you can spot at a glance: one eye in the middle on C, triangle eyes and a toothy grin on J, a painted moustache on M, only small pumpkins on T, no cuts at all on P. The bench reads your carving and tells you which shelf it fits.
Click a shelf to open its sample in the Pumpkin Maker and make your own version.
Small game, lots of pumpkin
Grown, not copied
Every pumpkin grows from its own seed: round, flat, tall, teardrop, boxy or squat, with its own ribs, dimple and stem. Eight varieties from Jack O'Lantern orange to Lumina white, Jarrahdale blue and warty Goblin.
Candlelight
A warm hall at night, lanterns over the benches and a string of bulbs along the awning. Hollow a pumpkin and it lights up on the shelf.
Sorting with a reason
Carved pumpkins arrive tagged with the shelf their carver meant. Look at the face, work out where it goes, and set it down.
Every pumpkin is a code
A finished pumpkin is a short line of text. Copy it from the bench, paste it in a chat, and your friend can put the same pumpkin on their bench.
Full controller support
Carve with a pad or with a mouse. Player 2 plays on a controller, keyboard and mouse stay with player 1.
No pressure
No timer, no fail state, nothing chasing you. The workshop saves itself, so you can stop mid-pumpkin and come back tomorrow.
Bring a friend
Online co-op
P4K7QXOpen your workshop and read out a six-character room code. Your friend types it and they're standing in your hall, carving at the next bench and filling the same shelves.
Couch co-op
One button adds a second player on the same screen, split top and bottom. Same patch, same shelves, twice the hands.
Versus
Each player gets their own shelves and the same patch of pumpkins. Whoever fills theirs first wins. Online with a room code or on the couch.
Carve one now. It might end up in the game.
The Pumpkin Maker is the game's carving bench in your browser, with the same tools and the same 26 shelves. Copy your pumpkin's code into Carve and Sort, or send it to us with your permission. It goes into the community patch right away, and the ones we pick can ship with the game and turn up in every player's patch, with your name on them.
